Winter Marsh Pant
Essex Marsh Pant
The 4:30 am alarm does not discriminate. Whether your call is to go gunnin’, clamin’ or just marshin’ around, the first 5 seconds of that alarm are frightful. And if the weather’s right, say 15 F° with the wind out of the northwest at 20 or so, the next ten seconds are the deciding moments. To go…or to roll over and curse yourself the rest of the day. You go!
Do yourself a favor: let our Essex Marsh Pant be the first thing you reach for…the rest will come easy. These are part of our new Marsh Wear group, stuff built with a bit more grit. Bar-none, these are the most complete pants we could conceive for headin’ outdoors in winter. Naturally, the fabric is elemental to their function. Tough, I mean as nails tough, 100% 10-oz. cotton twill. Even though they’re sanded and tumbled to break ‘em down a bit, the ridged twill surface stands outright. This is a fully constructed pant, of course. The seat and waist have a 2-1/2” let out and our Comfort-gripä waistband keeps your shirttail in place and your love-handles in check. The single front pleat is modest, darn near not there…just enough for a little extra room. Adjustable straps on waistband sides can take in up to 3” of slack.
Then there’s a fleet of functional pockets: the two front are raked forward and each has a small triangular coin pocket at the side-seam…look close, you’ll see ‘em. The two back pockets are large and have concealed button closures under the weather flap. The left side cargo pocket is an asymmetrical bellows construction with double button closures concealed under the flap. And of course, a side-leg utility pocket…just 2-1/2” wide, 4 or so inches deep… inset subtlety on the right thigh, just off the side seam.
