These sweatshirts are beautifully constructed and look like they will stand up to many years of outside use. My wife and I are west coast commercial fishermen .it is increasingly hard to find well built clothing.we liked your work so much that we bought three more for gifts.

I have already have 3 of the Hudson 1/4 zips and 1 of the zip up Hudsons and love them; but it was finally time to get the Hoodie version. As expected, a well executed heavy weight hooded sweatshirt! This reminds me of the really old school hoodies from my youth that I remember wearing till they fell apart after years. The kind of hoodies that you had to keep an eye on or someone would make off with it if you weren't paying attention. The kind of hoodie that your best girl would always be reaching for when they were chilly.
Perfectly layering piece for wearing under my Outlaw Bomber and Boatyard jackets, over a t-shirt, when the weather calls for a good hood for blocking the wind.

That said……….these are the best i have experienced. Quality cotton fleece, sizing that is constant and reliable and the colors are spot on. The best IMO.
Beautifully stitched and comfortable. I genuinely love the fit and feel of this sweatshirt. It has a very well constructed outer layer but inside it is comfortable and moves with you rather than feel restrictive. I am a huge fan of the cuffs and how they stay out on your wrists. I am about 5’10 210 lbs and I like oversized so I grabbed an XXL and it fits perfectly. Can’t wait to snowboard in this.
This hoodie is quality. The stitching around the front pocket, shoulders, arms, cuff, and hoodie is strong. I am 6'3" and this hoodie fits well. As I wore it, it stretches out a bit and becomes even more comfortable. The inside is soft and cozy. The outside is tough and holds up even during chores and splitting firewood. I am a believer!! Check these guys out!! Excellent company.

This is my new favorite hoodie. I really like that the elastic bottom is tighter and hugs better than most sweatshirts. It’s a great and very comfy material, and I hope to add a few more colors soon. I’m 6’3, 235 lbs and ordered XL. It wasn’t as lose fitting as I like, so I returned it for a XXL. Unfortunately, this size is out of stock on most colors, and I’m still waiting in Navy to come in.

I worked on a party boat in the NE US back in the 80's. We went out in the winter for cod. I had a sweatshirt JUST like this that I wore every day with 3 layers underneath. Thick, stiff rough cotton and oversized. Couldn't tell you the brand, but I absolutely lived in that thing during the winter. Could never find its equal until now. Trust me, if you know what im talking about, get this. Well worth the money.
As all my other Atlantic Ranchers products , the quality is excellent . This sweatshirt is built like Carhartt was 20 years ago (but even better). Anyone who’s ever spent a day at the Hudson Canyon in the North Atlantic on a scallop dragger, setting otter boards and tending the net will tell you: be ready to handle all four seasons of weather in just one day. The crews that call Viking Village home and steam out of Barnegat Inlet at the northern tip of Long Beach Island, NJ…well, they know a thing or two about a thing or two. Particularly, how to dress for these wild ass occasions. It’s October and peak of the scallop season and out here you dress in layers or suffer the consequences. And the one piece that’s forever part of this ensemble and common to every deckhand’s gear bag, is a sturdy, durable, 100% cotton hooded sweatshirt.
Our Hudson Canyon Pullover Hoodie was built for days like this. Its weather-beaten look and feel are intentional and achieved by our proprietary sea-salt-wash treatment. Yes, real sea salt, Henlopen Sea Salt to be precise. The base fabric is a sturdy 20oz cotton, tightly knit for longevity and warmth. It’s prewashed, it won’t shrink, it’ll retain its shape yet has plenty of give. And, ok, I’ll say it…it’s soft, but only on the inside!
And please note, this is not your skinny-mini-hipster-tailored fashion hoodie meant for looking hip on your way to SBUX. Our Hudson Canyon Pullover Hoodie is cut Old School, full and broad through the sleeves and torso, perfect for layering over other shirts, and just right for under layering to a coat or your overalls. The center-seam hood is broad enough to accommodate headgear and sinches tight when needed with cotton cord. Two front hand-warmer kangaroo pockets do just that. Ribbed cuffs and waistband bring it all together, around your wrist and hips to keep the whatever out and you right and tight.

We don’t use a 3rd. fulfillment house to process your order. We pick, pack and ship all orders ourselves from our own warehouse. If we receive your order by 12pm PST, we usually ship it to you that day. Otherwise it will ship on the following business day.
Returns & Refunds
If you aren’t happy with what you’ve purchased from Atlantic Rancher, you may return it to us in like-new condition within 30-days of purchase and we’ll process a refund for the full purchase price of the item(s) being returned.
Returns after the normal 30-day window are for store credit only.
People Usually Ask
1. Where are your products made?
All of our shirts, pants, outerwear, sweater, belts and moccasins are made in Portugal, mostly in the same shops we've been working with for over 25 years. Our hand-sewn leather goods, hats and a few other items are made in America.
2. How would you describe the fit of your clothes?
Our fit is what we call contemporary, meaning they're not overly baggy or boxy, but have ample room and freedom of movement. Also, our outerwear is uninsulated, or very lightly insulated. It's cut with enough room to allow you to layer underneath, with a sweater, a vest or even a light down-filled jacket. For us, layering is always the way to go!
3. Will your shirts and pants shrink after washing?
Simple answer is no. All of our shirts and pants are pre-shrunk. At most you will experience a 2% shrink factor after washing and drying.
4. What is DryHandle®?
Dryhandle® is a 100% cotton, weatherproof fabric that we develop in 1995. Starting with 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton the thread is very tightly woven resulting in a fabric so dense that it's thornproof and, even at this stage, surpasses the U.S. government test for rainwear. The fabric is then impregnated through the proprietary DryHandle® process which irreversibly transforms the cotton fibers themselves to make them inherently water-resistant and stain-resistant. Unlike oiled or waxed cotton fabrics, DryHandle® is extremely lightweight, has no odor, won't stain other clothing or upholstery and resists stains from hard use and long wear. Despite being water-resistant, the weave contains millions of microscopic pores that vent moisture, making DryHandle® garments exceptionally breathable and comfortable to wear.
5. How long does delivery usually take?
Orders received by 2pm PST are usually shipped the same day. In most cases we ship via USPS Priority Package, and orders to the East Coast typically arrive in 4 days or less. West of The Mississippi orders arrive in 2-3 days.
6. How do i reach the founder of the company?

7. If an item is out of stock will you let me when it's available again?
We maintain an active "wait list." So when you send a message asking to be notified when the item, color and size becomes available, we actually do something worthwhile with your request. We catalog your request and email you once the item becomes available again.
8. Who writes your copy and are the stories true?
The answer to the first part of this question is: me, Engle Saez, founder of the company. For part #2...there's an old adage that applies here: "you can't make this shit up." And I will just say that the stories I tell are as true as I can make them and as accurate as my memory allows. That's a true story...
9: Where did the name Atlantic Rancher come from?
The origins of our company's name is a long story, one will share in blog post at some point. But for now, all should know that we are forever grateful to Susan Turner for her original and very creative idea.
10: How do I return or exchange a item?
Returns are easy, but please follow our process. Email us at orders@atlanticrancher.com, include your order number in the subject line and tell us what you'd like to return and why. We'll review your return request and email you a RMA (return merchandise authorization) with the return-to shipping address. Please be sure to package your item(s) thoughtfully so goods aren’t damaged in the process. Select and use the carrier of your choice as return shipping is not covered by us. Please select “signature required” to ensure your return package is receipt confirmed.
We’ll let you know via email when your package has been received, inspected and your refund is issued. Refunds usually take 5-10 business days to process.
If you need to exchange an item, the best process is this: 1. Place a new order for the item you want. 2. Return the item you don't want to us, following the process outlined above.
