The sweater is thick and durable allowing you to stay dry on the water, while the interior is soft and warm. The fit is relaxed, but not sloppy and the wrist and waist bands are wide and durable and have not lost shape due to repeatedly putting it on and taking it off. This sweater is the epitome of buy it once, buy it for life.

Heavy duty built
Just got my new AR Flannel (Buffalo Plaid in Mint), and I adore it! I try to be an infrequent buyer of clothes, and therefor try to chose items that will last the test of time (style-wise and durability). No surprises I have a number of AR items in my closet. My new flannel feels fabulous, looks sharp, and will undoubtedly be in my wardrobe for decades. Thanks AR
I absolutely love my shipyard pants from Atlantic Rancher! They’ve quickly become one of my favorite pairs for so many reasons. They are incredibly flexible and comfortable, making them easy to move around in while the deep pockets give me plenty of room without worrying about losing things. I especially appreciate the double thickness knees which provide a little extra padding and durability when you’re working or spending time outdoors. And the reinforced crotch area is an awesome bonus – it adds even more durability, right where you need it most. These pants are clearly built with comfort, functionality, and durability in mind. Whether you’re working hard or just need a reliable pair of pants that can keep up with you, the shipyard pants deliver. Highly recommend!
I have had this shirt-jacket for about three months, and I like to spend time with my gear before writing a review. This is another excellent piece of gear from Atlantic Rancher. The shirt-jacket has improved with wear. It has broken in and now feels more comfortable than it did when it first arrived. As I expected, since I have several other things from AR, it is very well made. When I took it out of the packaging, there were no loose threads or misaligned stitches. The double stitching throughout is noted on the site, but it is a detail worth emphasizing. My wife is the seamstress, so I may not have the terminology exactly right, but the pockets are seam-bound, with twill tape fabric inside to help prevent the tops from unraveling. On the sleeve the adjustable cuffs have two positions, which is especially useful when wearing work gloves.
The details are what keep drawing me back to AR gear: deep pockets for everything you did not realize you needed to carry, shoulder gussets for easier movement, and a layered rear vent that allows airflow without feeling exposed.
Lastly, the shirt-jacket simply looks good. I get compliments when I wear it. It is built as a workhorse piece of gear, but it also works well as a casual jacket for the office on days when a heavier coat would be too much. I also appreciate that it does not have a hood, since I have other jackets for days when I know I will be out in the rain for long periods.
Second one just arrived, like the cream every bit as much as the original in oyster. Please make more in new colors moving forward so my Florida crew can have a merry Christmas. Previously been rocking the Poncho brand and the quality & feel/look are night and day. Premium product for sure, appreciate the attention to detail.
Arrived last week and wore to work today. Showed up at sunrise to begin my 14 hour day on the Great Lakes freighter “Superior Wench” and had several compliments from my maritime worn crew. Kidding, work in an office/studio but did have a few comments. Great looking, well made as you’d expect from AR and that zippered pocket is perfect for my phone. A full 5 stars.

I just got my Maine Lobstermen's Sweater. It’s a thick 100% wool very well made sweater that has the Maine Fishing look. It fits perfectly and is warm. With several washes I’m hoping it will have a softer feel but with a short sleeved shirt I don’t notice the typical wool itch. I like the neck line and texturing they created. I live in a cold winter climate so I’m sure I’ll get many months of use per year. I really enjoy the workmanship put into it.
