Details

BUILT FOR EVERYDAY CRUISING – Whether you're bangin’ around the boatyard or barreling down Highway 9 through the Pine Barrens in a chromed-out fuelie…this jacket becomes your wingman.

CONFIDENCE YOU CAN WEAR – Just something about that free rambling feeling and that out-o’-my-way attitude this jacket ignites. It’s rugged, uncomplicated, and doesn’t require tender loving care. The more you live through it, the louder its scuffs and scrapes will retell your journey.

DURABLE – Built with our proprietary DryHandle, The Original 100% cotton Dry-wax fabric that kicked off a new generation of organically enriched performance outerwear in 1995. DryHandle is tightly woven to resist abrasions, punctures and tears and is permeated with our proprietary dry-wax solution to repel wind and water. Double needle construction. Twill tape reinforcement at stress points.

FUNCTIONAL – Deep, functional hand pockets and chest pockets with snap closure, large enough for any cellphone or a 12oz can of anything. Broad, stand-up collar. Font and cuffs fitted with nickel plated, brass stud closures.

CLASSIC FIT – This is a classic cut, vintage proportioned jacket that will not be mistaken for a “fashion replica” of the ultimate American apparel icon. We drafted this with care and with all due respect to its original builder, Levi Strauss. Close to the torso, high on the waist and adjustable at the hip with Velcro fastener tape.

This jacket is a new addition to the stable of gear birthed at the Marblehead Boatyard, 89 Front Street, between 1995 & 1909, and inspired by the wily cast of characters we fondly recall as the Boatyard Boys: Dinzi, Moose, Lars, Tobi, and a few others we can’t mention.

Product Story

The Boatyard Trucker Jacket, 30th Anniversary Edition

The story of the Boatyard Trucker Jacket is one of rejection and perseverance. It was originally cobbled with the egging on from one of the Marblehead Boatyard Boys who was regularly assigned to driving Old #10 and hauled boats in and out of the “yard.” He was after the classic Levi’s look with a heavier fabric. It was ultimately put aside in favor of the current Boatyard Jacket which has more and bigger pockets, a lighter weight shell and is lightly insulated.

Good ideas never die; the best just wait their turn. And such it is with this one.

In pretty much its original form, we are introducing the 30th Anniversary Edition of the Boatyard Trucker. This is not a complicated build. Using 8oz. DryHandle, our proprietary 100% cotton, weatherproof fabric and custom hardware…I’m keeping my pencil in my pocket and trying not to duff up a good idea.

We are only building 84 units in each of two colors, Olive and Copper, sizes S to 3XL. Each will have our commemorative 30th
Anniv. embroidered badge on the upper left sleeve and a unique serial number identifier on the main label inside the jacket.

Usual Atlantic Rancher Quality

The Trucker jacket is exactly as advertised, has a nice true to size fit, and like everything else I have purchased from them, looks like it will last long enough to hand it down to my kid.

Comments: So far everything I’ve purchased has been great. I would also add that the customer service has been top notch.
Worth the wait!

I ordered this jacket on preorder in August for delivery in late November. It was everything I hoped. The quality is great. It fits well and I can tell that it is going to last. It’s already kept me dry on an unexpected shower while on my motorcycle. Well done

People Usually Ask

1. Where are your products made?

All of our shirts, pants, outerwear, sweater, belts and moccasins are made in Portugal, mostly in the same shops we've been working with for over 25 years. Our hand-sewn leather goods, hats and a few other items are made in America.

2. How would you describe the fit of your clothes?

Our fit is what we call contemporary, meaning they're not overly baggy or boxy, but have ample room and freedom of movement. Also, our outerwear is uninsulated, or very lightly insulated. It's cut with enough room to allow you to layer underneath, with a sweater, a vest or even a light down-filled jacket. For us, layering is always the way to go!

3. Will your shirts and pants shrink after washing?

Simple answer is no. All of our shirts and pants are pre-shrunk. At most you will experience a 2% shrink factor after washing and drying.

4. What is DryHandle®?

Dryhandle® is a 100% cotton, weatherproof fabric that we develop in 1995. Starting with 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton the thread is very tightly woven resulting in a fabric so dense that it's thornproof and, even at this stage, surpasses the U.S. government test for rainwear. The fabric is then impregnated through the proprietary DryHandle® process which irreversibly transforms the cotton fibers themselves to make them inherently water-resistant and stain-resistant. Unlike oiled or waxed cotton fabrics, DryHandle® is extremely lightweight, has no odor, won't stain other clothing or upholstery and resists stains from hard use and long wear. Despite being water-resistant, the weave contains millions of microscopic pores that vent moisture, making DryHandle® garments exceptionally breathable and comfortable to wear.

5. How long does delivery usually take?

Orders received by 2pm PST are usually shipped the same day. In most cases we ship via USPS Priority Package, and orders to the East Coast typically arrive in 4 days or less. West of The Mississippi orders arrive in 2-3 days.

6. How do i reach the founder of the company?

Easy! You can email him (that would be me, Engle) at engle@atlanticrancher.com or you can call me at 206-919-0943. I am around most of the time, but i miss you, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

7. If an item is out of stock will you let me when it's available again?

We maintain an active "wait list." So when you send a message asking to be notified when the item, color and size becomes available, we actually do something worthwhile with your request. We catalog your request and email you once the item becomes available again.

8. Who writes your copy and are the stories true?

The answer to the first part of this question is: me, Engle Saez, founder of the company. For part #2...there's an old adage that applies here: "you can't make this shit up." And I will just say that the stories I tell are as true as I can make them and as accurate as my memory allows. That's a true story...

9: Where did the name Atlantic Rancher come from?

The origins of our company's name is a long story, one will share in blog post at some point. But for now, all should know that we are forever grateful to Susan Turner for her original and very creative idea.

10: How do I return or exchange a item?

Returns are easy, but please follow our process. Email us at orders@atlanticrancher.com, include your order number in the subject line and tell us what you'd like to return and why. We'll review your return request and email you a RMA (return merchandise authorization) with the return-to shipping address. Please be sure to package your item(s) thoughtfully so goods aren’t damaged in the process. Select and use the carrier of your choice as return shipping is not covered by us. Please select “signature required” to ensure your return package is receipt confirmed.

We’ll let you know via email when your package has been received, inspected and your refund is issued. Refunds usually take 5-10 business days to process.

If you need to exchange an item, the best process is this: 1. Place a new order for the item you want. 2. Return the item you don't want to us, following the process outlined above.
