Hudson Canyon Wool Fleece Pullover

  •          Introduced in our 1995 catalog, the Hudson Canyon Wool Fleece Pullover is a high-utility garment built with our genuine wool blend fleece fabric to provide maximum thermal efficiency.
  •           When the weather turns and temperatures drop, it can go it alone as a primary outer layer, over a long-sleeve pullover, a blanket flannel or a sweater. A fixed DryHandle hood folds into the funnel collar and secures with Velcro® fasteners.
  •           Generous Cut broad fit through the torso allows maximum mobility and can be cinched at the waist with integrated heavy duty elastic cord.
  •            Durable – framed with DryHandle®, our proprietary 100% cotton weatherproof shell fabric that is lightweight, breathable and develops a surface level patina as it wears on.
  •           Functional – All aspects of this build work in unison…from the stand-up collar and the numerous functional pockets to the elbow patches, the back seat protector to shoulder cape that extends generously below the chest line.
  • Italian fleece: 40% virgin wool, 40% nylon, 20% polyester.
  • Built in Portugal.

Comments: Always excellent quality and great service, plus the AR gear lasts for decades
Atlantic Rancher gear lasts a lifetime

My Hudson Canyon Fleece Wool pullover is everything Atlantic Rancher does so well ! Quality materials, fast and efficient personal service.
My new Hudson Canyon Fleece Wool pullover is warm and comfortable to wear.
My original pullover I purchased from AR in 1995 and I’m still wearing 30 years later. It’s been with me to over 93 different fishing & hunting camps across North America. Atlantic Rancher gear has kept me warm and dry in my outdoor adventures. My kids borrow my pullover when they go snow boarding, and skiing.
Buy one you won’t be disappointed. Few companies are good at making products that last a lifetime !

Just got this, perfect for Northern California coast. Fowl hunting, fishing and dawn patrol surfs are what this piece of kit is meant for. I’m 6’2” 195 and the xl is an excellent fit. Cant wait to pass to one of my young boys after decades of use! Seems bomb proof! Keep up the good work!

Product Story

Anyone who’s ever spent a day at the Hudson Canyon in the North Atlantic on a longliner, baiting, setting and hauling strings will tell you: be ready to handle all four seasons of weather in just one day. The crews that call Viking Village home and steam out of Barnegat Inlet at the northernmost tip of Long Beach Island, NJ…well, they know a thing or two about a thing or two. Particularly, how to dress for these wildly unpredictable occasions. It’s November and peak of the commercial monk and tile fishing season. And out there, you dress in layers or suffer the consequences.

Our Hudson Canyon Wool Fleece was designed to thrive in these unpredictable and unforgiving conditions. Originally developed in 1995 in partnership with one of Italy’s most distinguished fabric mills, this fleece is renowned for its tenacious knit structure which makes it resistant to abrasion and pilling. Its genuine wool yarn repels moisture, traps heat in its fibers and generate warmth. A true testament to the endurance of the fabric and to the fit and finish of these garments are the many circa 1990’s units still in operation today.

NOTE, THESE ARE THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE GARMENT...NOT YOUR PERSONAL BODY MEASUREMENTS. Also keep in mind this is a knit garment, which unlike a woven garment, has substantial expandability.

People Usually Ask

1. Where are your products made?

All of our shirts, pants, outerwear, sweater, belts and moccasins are made in Portugal, mostly in the same shops we've been working with for over 25 years. Our hand-sewn leather goods, hats and a few other items are made in America.

2. How would you describe the fit of your clothes?

Our fit is what we call contemporary, meaning they're not overly baggy or boxy, but have ample room and freedom of movement. Also, our outerwear is uninsulated, or very lightly insulated. It's cut with enough room to allow you to layer underneath, with a sweater, a vest or even a light down-filled jacket. For us, layering is always the way to go!

3. Will your shirts and pants shrink after washing?

Simple answer is no. All of our shirts and pants are pre-shrunk. At most you will experience a 2% shrink factor after washing and drying.

4. What is DryHandle®?

Dryhandle® is a 100% cotton, weatherproof fabric that we develop in 1995. Starting with 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton the thread is very tightly woven resulting in a fabric so dense that it's thornproof and, even at this stage, surpasses the U.S. government test for rainwear. The fabric is then impregnated through the proprietary DryHandle® process which irreversibly transforms the cotton fibers themselves to make them inherently water-resistant and stain-resistant. Unlike oiled or waxed cotton fabrics, DryHandle® is extremely lightweight, has no odor, won't stain other clothing or upholstery and resists stains from hard use and long wear. Despite being water-resistant, the weave contains millions of microscopic pores that vent moisture, making DryHandle® garments exceptionally breathable and comfortable to wear.

5. How long does delivery usually take?

Orders received by 2pm PST are usually shipped the same day. In most cases we ship via USPS Priority Package, and orders to the East Coast typically arrive in 4 days or less. West of The Mississippi orders arrive in 2-3 days.

6. How do i reach the founder of the company?

AnswerEasy! You can email him (that would be me, Engle) at engle@atlanticrancher.com or you can call me at 206-919-0943. I am around most of the time, but if i miss you, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

7. If an item is out of stock will you let me when it's available again?

We maintain an active "wait list." So when you send a message asking to be notified when the item, color and size becomes available, we actually do something worthwhile with your request. We catalog your request and email you once the item becomes available again.

8. Who writes your copy and are the stories true?

The answer to the first part of this question is: me, Engle Saez, founder of the company. For part #2...there's an old adage that applies here: "you can't make this shit up." And I will just say that the stories I tell are as true as I can make them and as accurate as my memory allows. That's a true story...

9: Where did the name Atlantic Rancher come from?

The origins of our company's name is a long story, one will share in blog post at some point. But for now, all should know that we are forever grateful to Susan Turner for her original and very creative idea.

10: How do I return or exchange a item?

Returns are easy, but please follow our process. Email us at orders@atlanticrancher.com, include your order number in the subject line and tell us what you'd like to return and why. We'll review your return request and email you a RMA (return merchandise authorization) with the return-to shipping address. Please be sure to package your item(s) thoughtfully so goods aren’t damaged in the process. Select and use the carrier of your choice as return shipping is not covered by us. Please select “signature required” to ensure your return package is receipt confirmed.

We’ll let you know via email when your package has been received, inspected and your refund is issued. Refunds usually take 5-10 business days to process.

If you need to exchange an item, the best process is this: 1. Place a new order for the item you want. 2. Return the item you don't want to us, following the process outlined above.
