The Fabric
Built on the tried and trusted Dock Shirt chassis deployed in our Chamois Shirts, the Essex Marsh Flannel uses a highly specialized, 100% cotton yarn construction. Here, a combed 12/1 yarn is twisted with a 24/2 yarn, creating a 3-ply yarn that is woven in a twill pattern and finished with a moderately heavy brushing on both sides to produce an 8oz blanket of functional perfection. This yarn choice results in a medium density, fleecy, highly breathable fabric with a heathered look that is perfectly suited for year ‘round wear…as a top layer shirting for early summer mornings and cool evenings, and as a mid-layer shirting for cooler fall / winter use.

· Two, military-style angled front pockets with button closure flaps
· Reinforced hem patch seams with zigzag stitching
· Two, 1” expansion plackets at shoulder back
· Engineered underarm gussets with two sewn-in ventilation eyelets
· Collar, pocket flaps and sleeve cuffs are lined with nylon satin
· Sewn-in name tag eyelets, left pocket
· Built in Portugal
The Fit
· Cut a bit roomier than our standard block (the full torso), and in the neck and sleeves.
The Wearing
· The Essex Marsh Shirt is light enough to be worn tucked in or un-tucked as an overshirt or shirt-jack, especially if deployed as a secondary layer out on the water, around the boatyard or in the field.
