Story

He didn’t need a shucking knife…’could open ‘em with his fingernails.

Alright, that falls under the half-truths-and-lies category. But durnit, you’ve seen his hands, right?...the size of catcher’s mitts and if he ever snagged you by the short-hairs, you paid real close attention!

Uncle Jack's oyster & clam shuckin’ utensils never looked this good, even when they were new. His were all taped up at the handle and the blades whittled down so much they looked more like icepicks than shucking knives. But, that was him...and you and I aren’t.

In memory of Uncle Jack Scheimreif and all that he’s taught us, we’ve hunted down the best damn oyster and clam knives. They're quite simple tools, really, but made extraordinary by premium grade stainless steel blades, Bubinga wood handles and solid brass rivets.

Now if extraordinary is not what you’re after, don’t spend your money on these knives. You can get ordinary all day long at Amazon...at half the price of these.

Either way...ya best get shuckin.”

Comments: great quality
Oyster knife

ITs of great quality. Sharp edges and great tip. Need to keep it sharp. Sturdy if that applies. Works great on coming in from the "front", shell side. The only thing I might consider is a "thumb" groove on one side. Very similar to a Toadfish knife. I schuck for Rappahannock Oyster Co, Topping VA. I know a thing or two!

Comments: This was a very nice gift that got me some delicious oysters!
Great Oyster Knife

This is a very nice-looking, functional oyster knife. It's sharp enough to get any oyster open and rugged enough to survive it.

Kit?

It’s just an oyster knife. Why do they call it a kit? Gloves? Hot sauce? Nope.

Comments: I like the knife and case. I am a professional oyster shucker. I would like the knife more if the handle had rounded edges vs. squared edges. The knife will also need to be sharpened as I am a bill shucker (vs. a hinge shucker). I have a tabletop belt sander so no worries about getting it sharp. Thanks

Beauty Shucker!

Hands down my favorite shucking knife. The thing is well crafted, high quality, and virtually indestructible. Thanks for the awesome knife guys!
