So after a few conversations with Engle about the sweater's size and my incessant talk about the Lobsterman's Sweater with my wife, she "secretly" purchased a new Oyster colored sweater and out of the bag the sweater is everything as advertised.
The weight of it alone speaks volumes, and the stitching is perfect. The pictures on the website catalog are true to color.
I'm 5'11" at 248 lbs, very wide large shoulders and a true 48" chest. The XXL fits perfectly.
So, I'm pretty impressed, but the real test comes next week quahogging in weather forecasted to be 43 degrees with a 10 knot wind. Under my sweater will be a thin merino wool tee shirt over which will just be my new sweater.
Quahogging is sweaty work, and warmth and moisture transfer are critical to staying warm. Too often I have left the shellfishing flats chilled by faulty layering and fabric which doesn't work as merino wool does.
So this will be the test Engle. I'll report back next week.
